Abstract
The paper reflects the state of the problem of postoperative cognitive dysfunction, which is the current, due to the increased number of middle-aged and elderly people, as well as the number of patients who have a history of cerebrovascular disease. Determining the existence, degree and duration of major changes in higher brain activity, etiopathogenic mechanisms of cognitive dysfunction, which may be due to or aggravated by general anesthesia, it makes it possible to further develop adequate methods of prevention of these changes cognition that is relevant in modern anesthesiology and neurology.
