Abstract

The phagocytic activity of blood neutrophils and monocytes in patients with chronic periodontitis has been studied. It was found that in patients with chronic periodontitis, the phagocytic system is inadequate, which is manifested by a decrease in the absorption and digesting capacity of neutrophils and monocytes. The largest negative changes in the phagocytosis system are observed with a complicated course of chronic periodontitis.
